Key Responsibilities

  • •Participate in engine teardown investigations and support return-to-service activities for non-conforming hardware.
  • •Collect, characterize, and trend part condition and hardware distress data to support durability, safety, limits expansion, and repair activities.
  • •Interface with Engine Centers to understand non-conformances and obtain required distress characterization.
  • •Interpret OEM and aftermarket engineering data (engineering drawings, MRO manuals, field history) to understand original design intent and create technical data for returning hardware to service.
  • •Apply mechanical design principles (e.g., tolerance stack-ups, balance calculations, bearing area, thread shear capability) and coordinate validation substantiation and technical approvals, including FAA regulatory approval.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • •8+ years of prior relevant engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years with an advanced degree.
  • •Ability to travel (10%).
  • •Advanced degree and/or experience in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • •Experience in an aerospace overhaul environment such as assembly and disassembly of aircraft power plants.
