Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as the lead metallurgical and corrosion engineering resource for completions, well intervention, and fishing tool product lines.
  • •Provide technical guidance on material selection, heat treatment, manufacturing processes, welding, coatings, and corrosion mitigation methods for downhole applications.
  • •Lead metallurgical evaluations of product performance, field failures, manufacturing issues, and supplier quality concerns; develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • •Conduct or oversee failure investigations and root cause analyses using metallographic examination, fractography, corrosion assessment, and mechanical property evaluation.
  • •Develop, maintain, and approve metallic material specifications and engineering standards, and serve as the primary technical contact for metallurgical discussions with customers and industry partners.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Corrosion and Protection, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • •Minimum of 10 years of experience in metallurgy, corrosion engineering, or materials engineering within the oil and gas industry.
  • •Experience supporting downhole completions, well intervention, production, fishing, drilling, or related oilfield equipment.
  • •Strong knowledge of metallic materials used in oilfield applications, including carbon steels, low-alloy steels, stainless steels, nickel-based alloys, and other corrosion-resistant alloys (CRAs).
  • •Experience performing metallurgical failure analysis and providing improvement guidance, including strong analytical and technical report-writing skills.
