  • •Own Virta’s actuarial and financial value strategy, evolving savings, ROI, and actuarial methodologies grounded in healthcare claims and outcomes.
  • •Design performance guarantees and risk arrangements, developing and evaluating value-based contracts and structures that balance client value with financial risk.
  • •Partner across Commercial Leadership, Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership to shape pricing, benefits, and go-to-market strategy.
  • •Serve as a senior actuarial authority for strategic sales, renewal, and client conversations, communicating economic value to employers and health plans.
  • •Build for scale by defining reusable models, methodologies, tools, and processes, and mentor actuarial talent through coaching and review.

Key Requirements

  • •FSA or ASA designation with 12+ years of relevant experience in healthcare actuarial work, healthcare economics, consulting, payer strategy, employer benefits, or related fields.
  • •Deep experience using medical and pharmacy claims to measure healthcare cost savings and explain the economic value of value-based care models.
  • •Hands-on technical fluency with data and independently building analyses, including strong SQL skills to navigate complex healthcare datasets.
  • •Ability to leverage AI and emerging tools to accelerate analysis, improve workflows, and scale actuarial work.
  • •Experience translating complex actuarial and financial analyses into business recommendations, including evaluating performance guarantees, value-based arrangements, pricing strategies, and financial risk.
