Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently provide legal counsel to senior leadership to support business objectives and lead regulatory, compliance, and litigation risk for USAA.
  • •Lead sophisticated legal assignments with high business impact and deliver practical solutions.
  • •Advise on changes in laws, regulations, and industry developments, and proactively engage to identify solutions to potential legal and operational risks.
  • •Communicate clear and concise legal positions (verbally and in writing) to business partners and varying levels of leadership.
  • •Manage outside counsel and provide guidance to more junior attorneys as a resource within Legal and Advisory Services.

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school.
  • •Licensed and in good standing to practice law in one state or a territory of the USA.
  • •8 years of relevant experience, including at least 7 years as a practicing attorney.
  • •Significant, multi-year track record of P&C insurance coverage experience, including preparing coverage opinions under Homeowners and Personal Auto policies.
  • •Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and influence decisions while leading work toward strategic goals.
