Job Summary

Support and empower students’ social, emotional, personal, and academic growth as part of the Inclusion Team. Work with teachers, parents, colleagues, and external agencies to provide individual and small-group counselling for needs such as anxiety, grief, trauma, and family break-up. Use assessment data to plan targeted interventions, deliver a counselling program with workshops for parents, maintain confidential records, and make appropriate referrals.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide individual student planning with teachers and parents, including goal-setting, strategies, and Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
•Deliver responsive counselling to individual students and small groups based on identified needs, including anxiety, grief, trauma, and family break-up.
•Coordinate action plans, manage an effective referral process within the Inclusion Team, and collaborate with external agencies to implement recommendations.
•Maintain confidential records of student consultations and interventions, use assessment data appropriately, and make clear recommendations to parents and the Inclusion Team.
•Run and evaluate the counselling program across the academic year, including parent workshops, needs assessments for systemic social and emotional needs, and continuous improvement via feedback.

Key Requirements

•Certification in counselling, psychology, or social work.
•At least three years of school-based experience or previous experience working with schools and students in a counselling capacity.
•A bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
•Understanding of the developmental, emotional, social, and educational issues of children and young people.
•Excellent communication in written and spoken English, strong interpersonal skills, and strong IT skills.
