Senior Software Engineer on the Observe team responsible for owning the streaming data product surface, including APIs, schemas, and abstractions for tables, views, and materialized views that unify telemetry. You will design data models, freshness semantics, and APIs with strong schema discipline, lead architectural direction, and mentor engineers to scale a petabyte-scale streaming data platform.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the data modeling surface — the APIs, schemas, and abstractions through which customers create tables, views, and materialized views that unify telemetry for correlation and querying, designed for high-performance execution at scale.
•Design abstractions for how customers create and manage queryable data — from streaming materialized views to reference tables to log-derived metrics, all composing under one evolvable model.
•Define freshness and staleness semantics to ensure materialized views are current and provide controls to balance query latency and compute cost.
•Design APIs with strong schema taste: versioning, backwards compatibility, polymorphic data models, and clean contracts between systems.
•Lead a team technically — setting architectural direction, writing production code, and mentoring engineers.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 200,000 - 287,500 annually
