Job Summary

Lead and continuously improve the school’s counselling provision by setting a clear vision, supporting student well-being, and ensuring confidential counselling services are delivered to referred students. Partner with teaching and student support teams to identify at-risk learners, provide guidance to staff, coordinate with safeguarding leads, and report relevant audit information. Support pastoral care, behavior management, and OSH responsibilities while engaging parents and staff through meetings, trainings, and school events.

Key Responsibilities

•Articulate a vision for outstanding counselling and set direction for continuous improvement and high-quality student outcomes.
•Support development of policies and practices that lead to high quality outcomes for students and contribute to school self-evaluation and improvement planning.
•Provide confidential counselling services and guidance/advice to staff for referred or at-risk students, maintaining appropriate records.
•Promote student well-being and safety, including behavior management, safeguarding coordination, incident reporting, and first aid mental health provision.
•Contribute to school procedures/processes, arrange and deliver relevant staff training, and support parent engagement activities including open days.

•A strong understanding of best practices and current pedagogy, including technology-enhanced learning.
•Proven ability to foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment.
