Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct hands-on material and failure analysis using sample prep and characterization techniques to identify physical failure modes and support root-cause identification.
  • •Perform hands-on data collection and assist engineers in implementing materials characterization techniques to determine thin film material structure and properties.
  • •Support and sustain lab equipment and ensure analytical capabilities are in place for advanced transistor/interconnect technology and product development.
  • •Develop improved or new tools and best-known methods, and provide lab hub support for new process/product ramp in HVM factories and production startup.
  • •Collaborate with other lab areas beyond local MA/FA labs to achieve shared goals.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Material Science or STEM related to semiconductor manufacturing, plus 2+ years maintenance experience, or an Associate degree in STEM related to semiconductor manufacturing plus 4+ years maintenance experience.
  • •2+ years maintenance experience in relevant lab/manufacturing context.
  • •Experience in one or more of: AFM; X-ray analysis/diffraction (TXRF, XRF, XRD/XRR); surface analysis (XPS, SIMS/TOFSIMS); electron spectroscopy/imaging (SEM/TEM/EDX); and FIB techniques.
  • •Ability to conduct hands-on analysis using lab techniques from sample preparation through characterization at nanometer scales.
  • •Familiarity with laboratory techniques.
