Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle systems including electrical/brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines (gas/diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • •Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using tools/instruments and conduct road tests to confirm malfunctions and proper operation.
  • •Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on a company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation.
  • •Maintain vehicle readiness by conducting safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections, and document findings and DOT forms on repair orders using the company system.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or alternative combinations such as 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for required job duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
  • •Have a current and valid DOT medical card (with requirements for completing a DOT physical depending on expiration timing).
  • •Be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license; be able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
