Job Summary

Support a CSOC Tier 2 Monitoring & Vulnerability Analysis team by focusing on intrusion detection system (IDS) operations. You will assess network threats, determine true threats vs. false positives and misconfigurations, monitor for compromises and security posture events, develop and update IDS signatures, and produce daily technical and executive summary reports. You’ll also support analysts with oversight and guidance during intrusion detection and escalation.

Key Responsibilities

•Assess network threats (viruses, exploits, malicious attacks) and operate vulnerability assessment equipment to support intrusion analysis.
•Identify true threats vs. false positives and address network misconfigurations in a timely manner.
•Monitor for potential compromise and significant security events, and follow intrusion and escalation processes.
•Develop/write custom IDS signatures and update proprietary signatures.
•Perform daily IDS analysis/monitoring and generate technical and executive summary reports.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or a related field.
•2+ years of relevant experience.
•Experience in systems cyber security analysis.
•Experience working at a Security Operations Center (SOC) / Network Operations Center (NOC).
•Experience with Computer Emergency/Incident Response Team (CERT/CIRT) and network security management/operations.
