Provide practical, clear legal counsel across commercial, corporate, regulatory, employment, and privacy matters for a fast-growing fintech. Independently draft, negotiate, and review financing, partnership, and customer-facing agreements while identifying and addressing legal and business risks. Draft internal policies, support customer disclosure updates, conduct timely legal research, streamline contract negotiation processes, and manage external counsel as required—working closely with business partners in Calgary.

•Provide clear, accurate legal advice across commercial, corporate, regulatory, employment, and privacy matters.
•Structure, draft, negotiate, and review financing, partnership, and customer-facing agreements while identifying legal and business risks.
•Anticipate, elucidate, and address legal issues to protect Neo’s interests and reduce exposure to legal risk.
•Draft internal policies and guidelines to support compliance and update customer-facing disclosures and agreements.
•Conduct legal research and manage external legal counsel as required, including streamlining contract negotiation processes.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Law (L.LB) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) and 2–5 years of post-call experience.
•Mix of law firm and in-house experience, ideally in a regulated industry or start-up environment.
•Commercial experience with a generalist mindset, comfortable negotiating a variety of agreements (e.g., vendor contracts, NDAs, consulting agreements).
•Experience working on a small team, collaborating with business teams, and taking ownership.
•Tech-savvy with strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
