Job Summary

Provide technical leadership for civil engineering work supporting infrastructure planning, design, and delivery. Develop grading, drainage, utility, pavement, stormwater, and site development deliverables, including plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction packages. Perform engineering reviews for permit applications and compliance with codes, regulations, and QA/QC standards, while coordinating schedules, budgets, and team work. Engage clients and support business development and staff mentoring across projects in Lexington or Louisville.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical and professional leadership for civil engineering work and support technical quality and regulatory compliance.
•Develop civil plans, specifications, cost estimates, design reports, and construction packages for grading, drainage, utilities, pavements, stormwater systems, and access improvements.
•Perform and/or support engineering reviews of permit applications, design documents, contracts, management plans, and construction inspections to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
•Lead or support delivery of civil projects by coordinating schedules, tracking budgets, overseeing team work, and contributing to business development.
•Participate in client meetings and technical discussions and support contract negotiations; mentor and guide staff development.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
•5-10+ years of relevant post-education experience in civil and infrastructure design.
•Professional Engineer (PE) license required (multi-state licensure preferred or willingness to obtain).
•Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, design standards, and how they apply to permitting and infrastructure projects.
•Advanced proficiency with civil engineering/design tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and ArcGIS, plus spreadsheets and predictive models.
