Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee, maintain, execute, and ensure safety for mechanical, combustible, and special effects systems, including fire suppression equipment.
  • •Participate in setup and teardown of pyrotechnic gear, directing local crews in loading/unloading, assembling, and disassembling associated equipment.
  • •Repair and maintain firing console equipment, related hardware, and fire suppression systems following supervisor direction and best practice standards.
  • •Ensure safety and security of pyrotechnic equipment and product across receiving, storage, handling, and disposal.
  • •Coordinate with tour management, show support, and local fire authorities for permitting compliance, including demonstrations, inspections, and disposal protocols.
Travel: Extensive travel

Key Requirements

  • •Associate degree or higher in Technical Theatre and/or 5+ years of real-world experience in indoor pyrotechnics and special effects within movie, theatre, or arena touring.
  • •Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals, and to write route reports and correspondence.
  • •Detail oriented and methodical in establishing daily procedures and show protocols.
  • •Ability to climb and work at heights more than 55ft and perform rigging calls, load-ins, and load-outs before, during, and after performance.
  • •Ability and desire to tour year-round, including international travel and travel to Canada.
