Build Quince’s supply chain planning science from the ground up—owning forecasting tournaments, inventory placement optimization, vendor performance modeling, and raw-material signal pipelines. Set the science charter and methodology standards, drive experimentation rigor with AI-native workflows, and partner with planning operators to turn operational reality into actionable decisions. Mentor DS2/DS3 scientists and collaborate with Planning Tools engineering to translate platform needs into end-to-end delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•Own science workstreams end-to-end, including forecasting tournament implementation, inventory placement optimization, vendor performance systems, and raw material signal pipelines.
•Set methodological standards for model selection, defensible evaluation, and handling sparse/noisy data.
•Partner with Planning Tools engineering on platform needs and production constraints.
•Drive experimentation discipline with clean splits, honest backtests, and willingness to reject hypotheses.
•Mentor scientists and raise the team’s methodological floor through code review, design discussions, and direct teaching.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 250,000 - 285,000 annually

Key Requirements

•8+ years of applied data science or operations research experience with deep domain expertise in supply chain planning.
•End-to-end ownership of modeling workstreams from problem framing through production deployment and measured business impact.
•Methodological breadth across forecasting and operations research (classical, ML, and AI-driven approaches).
•Engineering fluency to build end-to-end feature pipelines, run experiments, and support model serving.
•AI-native science practice, including LLM-aided work and examples where AI tooling changed how science is done while maintaining high standards.
