Job Summary

Plan, prepare, and complete cost budgets, estimates, and bid package submittal documents for structured cabling and low-voltage/data center projects. Review bid packages and specs, produce quantity take-offs, develop installation unit costs and rates, and evaluate value engineering opportunities. Lead and delegate estimating work, coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors for pricing, and support bid reviews and post-award handoffs.

Key Responsibilities

•Plan and prepare cost budgets, estimates, and bid package submittal documents for assigned opportunities under the Group Estimating Manager.
•Review full bid packages, determine scope and required estimate contents, and attend pre-bid meetings.
•Create quantity take-offs and cost budgets from start to response package delivery, including installation unit costs and labor productivity targets.
•Identify competitive estimate drivers and potential value engineering opportunities; assess subcontractor quotes for completeness and conformance.
•Provide leadership to estimating resources, support vendor pricing/materials lists, and coordinate bid read-outs and post-award hand-offs.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of estimating experience developing estimates and bid packages for large-scale complex structured cabling and low-voltage system projects.
•Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex design drawings and specifications.
•Proficiency with computer use and Microsoft Office business applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) plus industry-specific platforms.
•Experience developing detailed and accurate cost budgets and estimates for data center structured cabling systems.
•Familiarity with modern estimating software; experience with CAD and Revit or other 3D modeling software is a plus.
