Job Summary

Serve as a strategic legal advisor to Product, Engineering, Design, and Business on autonomy and AI initiatives, including privacy, data protection, accessibility, and consumer protections. Lead cross-functional compliance, safety, and IP protection projects, review product integrations and external-facing materials, and manage patent strategy. Partner with internal teams to turn legal guidance into actionable workflows and support areas like M&A as part of a small, high-growth legal team.

Key Responsibilities

•Advise Product, Engineering, Design, and Business on autonomy and AI issues including privacy, data protection, accessibility, and consumer protections.
•Lead and support cross-functional compliance, safety, and IP protection projects, integrating legal requirements into product development workflows.
•Review product integrations to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, data protection laws, and intellectual property rights.
•Translate legal advice into actionable guidance for product and engineering teams under tight deadlines.
•Manage patenting and invention harvesting, build legal risk systems/policies/processes, and support customer contracts and external-facing marketing documents.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 200,000 - 300,000 annually

Key Requirements

•8+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience, preferably in technology companies, advising on privacy, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies.
•J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in one state bar.
•Experience working across engineering, product, design, security, privacy, and marketing throughout the product development life cycle.
•Experience counseling business partners on domestic and international laws, regulations, and best practices for implementing and ensuring ongoing compliance.
•Ability to advance large, complex projects while operating effectively in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment with strict deadlines.
