Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement the core compiler infrastructure and contribute to long-term architectural decisions.
  • •Develop and optimize backend code generation for multiple targets (NVIDIA, Trainium, AMD, TPU, etc.).
  • •Create and refine compiler passes for fusion, scheduling, memory planning, and kernel selection.
  • •Profile real models to identify bottlenecks and improve latency and throughput.
  • •Help shape Luminal’s engineering culture and processes as a founding engineer.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 200,000 - 350,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Experience with compiler frameworks: LLVM, MLIR, or other custom compilers.
  • •Hands-on experience with at least one GPU ISA: PTX/SASS, GCN/RDNA assembly, or similar.
  • •Familiarity with ML compilers: torch.compile, XLA, TVM, etc.
  • •Strong systems programming and performance optimization skills.
  • •Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and contribute to core compiler design.
