Key Responsibilities

  • •Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers; perform make-versus-buy analysis and coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
  • •Form and coordinate a Materials Core Team; manage product development deliverables via matrix management of buyers, planners, and production control, collaborating with engineering to interpret requirements.
  • •Create, release, and update project materials strategy under some supervision, including executing commercialization (transition) materials plans.
  • •Assist sourcing with supplier price/delivery negotiations, supplier selection and assessment, supplier risk assessments, and monitoring supplier performance (delivery, quality, cost).
  • •Manage materials change control, meet cost objectives, resolve quality issues, generate key process indicators, track total landed costs targets, and escalate issues when necessary.
