Job Summary

Design and review mechanical elements for wastewater and water infrastructure projects across feasibility, outline, detail, and construction design. Lead work on pumping stations, headloss and pumping system analysis, pump selection, and equipment/plant specifications and deliverables. Collaborate with multi-discipline teams, communicate with clients, support bid proposals, and provide technical mentoring while helping shape digital design tools like BIM and Projectwise.

Key Responsibilities

•Undertake the design and review of mechanical elements for wastewater and water infrastructure/treatment projects, including pumping station design and pumping system analysis.
•Perform key calculations and engineering selections such as headloss calculations and pump selection, including related equipment and layouts.
•Engage in all design stages (Feasibility, Outline, Detail, and Construction Design) and ensure compliance with national and international design standards.
•Collaborate with other discipline teams, communicate with clients and collaborators, and provide technical mentoring to more junior staff.
•Support bid/proposal preparation and deliver quality design outputs within agreed budgets and timelines, producing and reviewing drawings and technical reports.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience designing water and wastewater engineering deliverables, ideally including treatment schemes.
•BEng or MEng in a related engineering field with experience in water and wastewater treatment.
•Chartered (or near Chartered) Member of a relevant Professional Institution.
•Proven experience working at a senior engineer level at a consultancy in the water sector.
•Experience managing projects, delegating tasks, and providing technical mentoring.
