Job Summary

Manage accounting for a clearing capital markets broker-dealer supporting fixed income trading, underwriting, securities borrowing/lending, repo/reverse repo, defeasance, and VRDN remarketing. Oversee daily/monthly/quarterly close activities, reconciliations, valuations, and revenue/expense recognition under U.S. GAAP. Partner across front office, operations, treasury, product control, regulatory reporting, and audit teams, while leading staff and strengthening controls in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee accounting support for fixed income trading, underwriting, securities borrowing/lending, repurchase and reverse repurchase agreements, defeasance, and VRDN remarketing activities.
•Direct daily/monthly/quarterly accounting including trade/settlement date accounting, accruals, valuations support, and balance sheet reconciliations.
•Review accounting treatment for trading inventory, underwriting positions, financing transactions, and revenue/expense recognition (including gains/losses, interest, and fees).
•Support internal and external financial reporting and maintain strong balance sheet and P&L controls, reconciliations, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and broker-dealer control standards.
•Manage, coach, and develop accounting staff and improve processes/controls through standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred) or related field, or equivalent work experience.
•Six or more years of accounting experience.
•Prior people management or demonstrated leadership experience.
•Strong knowledge of broker-dealer products and transaction flows, particularly fixed income and securities financing.
•Hold FINRA Series 27 or be able to pass testing within a 4-month window (120 days).
