Job Summary

Ensure the reliability and performance of Starshield satellite hardware by conducting detailed failure analysis on PCBAs, identifying root causes, and driving corrective actions. Use design schematics, test equipment, and inspection processes to understand failure physics and improve yield and quality metrics. Partner with cross-functional electrical, mechanical, software, design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, and support environmental testing and field/production troubleshooting to prevent escapes.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform detailed failure analysis of Starshield satellite hardware to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
•Use design schematics, test equipment, and inspection processes to determine the physics of failures.
•Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to improve product reliability and manufacturing processes.
•Partner with test engineers to improve test assets, reduce false failures, and increase test coverage to avoid escapes.
•Monitor yield rates and quality metrics, conduct benchtop environmental testing, and document failure analysis and corrective actions.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or other engineering discipline.
•1+ years of experience in hardware development, failure analysis, or reliability engineering (internship and co-op experience qualifies).
•Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
•Experience troubleshooting and root causing electrical hardware failures.
•Experience with environmental testing such as HALT/HASS, thermal, vibration, and TVAC.
