Key Responsibilities

  • •Take responsibility for identification and delivery of all aspects of the S&EM design activities as part of an Integrated Project Team in accordance with the IAS safety management system.
  • •Carry out hazard analysis, risk evaluation and specify S&E requirements in the areas of performance, engineering features, interfacing and testing requirements.
  • •Communicate a reasoned argument to all disciplines across the project team for the inclusion of S&E measures in order to ensure adherence to all the derived S&E requirements.
  • •Maintain and ensure compliance to S&EM processes and procedures.
  • •Maintain a good understanding of all relevant S&E standards and regulations and ensure they are followed in IAS.
  • •Planning and estimating the cost of project S&EM engineering activities.
  • •Prepare hazard analysis reports, safety cases as well as development of valid safety arguments.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent
  • •Experience in a safety engineering role within an engineering environment
  • •Experience of leading safety engineering related activities
  • •Working knowledge of product safety standards and legislation
  • •Ideally Chartered Engineer or member of a Professional Institution; ideally a post-graduate qualification in safety or environmental engineering
