Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide tax advisory to the business on new transactions/products, client enquiries, business campaigns, and new tax regulations impacting products.
  • •Review withholding taxes/VAT and current/deferred tax calculations for accuracy, deviations, and issues.
  • •Assess tax process controls (2LOD) across the lines of business, including informative returns (FATCA/CRS), tax receipts, and related tax processes.
  • •Raise, report, and drive remediation of issues from 2LOD reviews with the relevant functions/businesses, informing the Head of Tax and internal senior forums until resolution.
  • •Optimize tax review processes through automations/strategies to reduce manual effort and time, avoid penalties, and enable remediation or documented risk acceptance.

Key Requirements

  • •Provide tax advisory on new transactions/products and enquiries, including impacts of new tax regulations on financial products.
  • •Design and execute tax review of withholding taxes/VAT calculations, including accuracy and any issues or deviations, plus current/deferred tax.
  • •Execute reviews over tax process controls (2LOD) covering withholding taxes, informative returns (e.g., FATCA/CRS), tax receipts, and related processes.
  • •Manage tax risk for Mexico by aligning with global/standard procedures and working with UK tax and risk groups to monitor and report the Mexico tax Risk Map.
  • •Lead execution of tax reviews and remediation follow-up, working with involved functions/businesses until issues are resolved and properly governed.
