Job Summary

Originate residential 1st mortgage loans for outside referrals, managing each loan from application through closing. Build referral relationships and maintain expertise in mortgage policies, loan products, underwriting, and escalation protocols. Use systems and tools to complete applications (Fannie Mae Form 1003), review credit and rates, transmit loans, collect documentation, manage the loan pipeline, and provide timely customer updates while meeting sales and cross-selling objectives.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop referral contacts (realtors, builders, and professional and personal contacts).
•Originate mortgage loans end-to-end, taking applications via Fannie Mae Form 1003 and managing loans through closing.
•Use tools and systems to access daily rates, applicant credit reports, Loan Prospector responses, and transmit loans to LOMAS.
•Collect applicant documentation and deliver loan packages within management time frames while following escalation protocols.
•Manage the loan pipeline and provide timely updates and progress reports to branches and applicants; attend consumer lending meetings.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent (four-year college degree preferred).
•Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines.
•Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
•Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated organizational skills, teamwork, customer service skills, and basic sales technique.
