Key Responsibilities

  • •Take end-to-end technical ownership of safety analysis deliverables supporting final design scope, approach, schedule, and quality for Mark 1.
  • •Perform and oversee deterministic safety analysis for intact (non-breach) events using PIRT and other scoping methods to bound figures of merit.
  • •Develop TRISO-based source term calculations, including fuel layer failure mechanisms, fission product release/transport, radionuclide grouping, and dose driver identification.
  • •Quantify how neutronics model uncertainties propagate through fuel performance and source term models into final radiological dose results.
  • •Coordinate with design disciplines and licensing to define analysis inputs, respond to regulator requests for additional information (RAIs), and support V&V and regulatory submittal documentation.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 150,000 - 220,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •B.S. in Nuclear, Mechanical, or a related field (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred).
  • •4+ years of relevant reactor safety analysis experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • •Hands-on experience with at least one system-level thermal-hydraulic/systems analysis code (e.g., RELAP5-3D, TRACE, SAM, GOTHIC, SAS4A/SASSYS-1, MELCOR).
  • •Working knowledge of TRISO (or other advanced) fuel performance and qualification, including mechanistic failure modes of fuel coating layers under irradiation and thermal loading.
  • •Experience developing source terms and radiological dose consequence calculations, and familiarity with PIRT or comparable phenomena-scoping methods.
