Key Responsibilities

  • •Write breaking news, enterprise, and watchdog stories for print and digital audiences while working in a digital-first newsroom.

Key Requirements

  • •5 years’ experience in a related field (or an alternative combination such as any level degree/certification beyond HS/GED with 3 years, or 7 years experience).
  • •Excellent reporting and writing skills, with the ability to write and edit quickly.
  • •Use research to tailor stories to the audience and platform, and tell compelling stories in relatable ways across digital formats.
  • •Demonstrated social media presence with the ability to engage readers and find story tips, including Facebook.
  • •Familiarity with standards for avoiding libel and slander and a good grasp of Ohio public records laws.
