Key Responsibilities

•Own the technical architecture of the Shop Builder platform, including which APIs to expose and through which surfaces (REST, SDK, MCP, CLI).
•Define interface contracts for LLMs and developers (React component APIs, block schemas, theme tokens, data binding formats) and maintain them as public APIs.
•Design and lead delivery of the MCP server enabling AI agents to build, deploy, and operate storefronts end-to-end.
•Architect the CLI and local development environment (scaffolding, hot reload, deploy commands) and how developers push changes to production.
•Define deploy, versioning, and rollback models for developer-published content and oversee sandbox/preview environments for safe iteration.

Key Requirements

•10+ years of professional engineering experience with a proven track record as a Staff or Principal engineer who has shaped platforms, APIs, or developer tooling.
•Deep expertise in designing and shipping public APIs and SDKs, including versioning, backwards compatibility, and developer ergonomics.
•Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
•Hands-on experience building CLI tooling and local developer workflows (scaffolding, hot reload, file-based config, deploy commands).
•Solid understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) or equivalent tool-use interfaces, and experience building AI agent tooling.
