Key Responsibilities

  • •Make timely, accurate, and customer-focused STD, SDI, and Absence Management new and ongoing claim decisions.
  • •Reach out to gather clinical, vocational, employer, and financial information and compare it to contract terms and procedural documents to render decisions.
  • •Document claim information accurately and comprehensively in the claim systems while maintaining efficiency.
  • •Prepare and disseminate articulate written and verbal communications to internal and external sources, including a claim management plan.
  • •Remain compliant with regulatory and operational requirements while meeting or exceeding claim team operational metrics.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent work experience; college degree a plus.
  • •3+ years of STD claims experience preferred.
  • •Knowledge of STD, SDI, and absence management products and relevant regulations preferred.
  • •Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and pathology preferred.
  • •Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite required; Claim Vantage experience and NY Independent Adjuster license or certifications (e.g., FMLA Specialist) are a plus.
