Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle in accordance with applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads safely and on schedule while obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas, following loading crew signals.
  • •Load/unload goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted; return equipment to designated areas.
  • •Maintain delivery paperwork (invoices, shipping bills of lading) and perform routine truck service; report maintenance issues to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or a chauffeur’s license depending on state, appropriate for the vehicle weight.
  • •Must pass background and drug testing as required by DOT/Federal or state transportation regulations, and pass a DOT physical (trucks over 10k lbs).
  • •Must be at least 21 years old and have a clean driving record.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds, sit for prolonged periods in the cab, and travel frequently.
