Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and management systems for the location, ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • •Lead and develop the EHS team through delegation, policy/procedure administration, work planning and follow-up.
  • •Ensure required regulatory and Smithfield EHS training is conducted and delivered appropriately.
  • •Own regulatory reporting, performance documentation, and conformance to ISO EHS program requirements; develop metric reports for EHS opportunities.
  • •Lead investigations, identify corrective actions, and oversee implementation strategies for continuous improvement; communicate KPI action plans to the team.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a field that adds value to environmental, health and safety, plus 8+ years of related experience (or equivalent combination).
  • •2+ years of demonstrated experience managing/developing a team or leading projects.
  • •Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, set goals, and complete commitments on schedule.
  • •Experience working long hours and weekends, with on-call availability when required.
  • •Strong oral and written communication skills for drafting reports, correspondence, and procedures in English.
