Job Summary

Lead monthly financial closings for Mexico under US GAAP and local GAAP, ensuring accurate reporting and smooth reconciliations. Partner with external accounting firms and internal teams to validate IFRS-to-GAAP reporting packages, manage intercompany and third-party statements, and oversee AP/AR, treasury activities, and internal controls. Support audits (statutory and SOX), drive continuous improvement including S/4 rollout and workflow automation, and supervise an Accountant.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the monthly close process for Mexico, including journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, and GL account reconciliations, and proactively manage accounting risks.
•Lead financial reporting and validation of monthly reporting packages (IFRS to GAAP), and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual trial balances prepared under US GAAP.
•Oversee accounting operations, reconciliations, and liaison with third-party accounting firms, ensuring costs are properly recorded and reconciliations are completed.
•Establish and manage internal controls, support tax compliance and transfer pricing, and assist with statutory and SOX audits.
•Manage AP/AR and treasury activities (cash flow forecasting, funding requests, cash true-up), drive transformation and automation (including S/4 rollout), and supervise an Accountant.

Key Requirements

•Degree in accounting with a post-graduate accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent) and Big 4 experience (preferred).
•5+ years of relevant experience in financial accounting, including US GAAP knowledge and local accounting practices with ERP systems (preferably SAP).
•Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role.
•Experience ensuring integrity of financial records, including monthly transaction processing, reconciliations, and establishing accounting processes and policies.
•Fluent in English and Spanish, with experience working in international companies.
