Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and lead the strategic vision, design, and implementation of AWS Cloud services and platform capabilities, including EKS and related compute, storage, and serverless services.
  • •Lead the AWS platform engineering team to enhance the Amex EKS platform and enable AWS native services with a focus on customer experience.
  • •Partner with security, architecture, SRE, and application teams to define and implement cloud best practices and standardized patterns.
  • •Optimize AWS spend and continuously evaluate cloud infrastructure to improve reliability, efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain security posture.
  • •Develop OKRs with the product team, produce executive-level reports and insights, and foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • •15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including 8+ years driving AWS large engineering teams at scale.
  • •Experience building and managing large fleets of EKS clusters and leading teams for reliable, resilient, enterprise cloud infrastructure.
  • •Deep understanding of cloud technologies (including AWS and Google Cloud), plus cloud orchestration and automation tools.
  • •Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD, configuration management, infrastructure as code) and observability tools such as Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, and Dynatrace.
