Job Summary

Accounting Lead at a Fintech/payments leader supporting the close process with hands-on operational accounting, delivering high-impact financial insights and ensuring GAAP compliance. You’ll lead journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis, mentor accounting staff, uphold internal controls (SOX), and provide management with timely dashboards and scenario analysis to drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

•Analyze operational and financial data to validate activity, identify trends, and translate findings into clear business insights
•Support the month-end close by preparing journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and partnering with Accounting to ensure timely, accurate results
•Train, provide guidance and review the work performed by accounting staff to ensure transactions are processed in accordance with company policy
•Help maintain a strong control environment by executing key controls and documentation in alignment with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
•Build and deliver recurring reporting, variance analysis, and commentary to deepen understanding of assigned balance sheet and P&L areas

Key Requirements

•4+ years of experience in accounting
•Experience with month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance investigation
•Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, and data modeling); comfortable with large datasets and summarizing insights for finance and non-finance partners
•Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience
•Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP/financial systems is a plus
