Key Responsibilities

  • •Participate in improving TikTok’s search core algorithm, including content understanding with NLP/CV and LLMs to improve video-query relevance.
  • •Work on recommendation in search to enhance personalization and user understanding through user behavior modeling.
  • •Contribute to video understanding using NLP, CV, and LLMs to improve authority, credibility, and usefulness of search results.
  • •Design, build, test, and maintain search services, data pipelines, tools, and platform components that support search quality, reliability, latency, and user experience.

Key Requirements

  • •Be completing or have recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • •Have experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C++, Go, or JavaScript through coursework, internships, projects, or equivalent practical experience.
  • •Have experience with search, recommendation, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, ranking, data mining, or backend systems.
  • •Be familiar with distributed systems, databases, data pipelines, online experimentation, or large-scale service development.
  • •Use data or metrics to debug, evaluate, or improve a product or system.
