Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage an hourly workforce of technicians and welders, including daily assignments, feedback, corrective actions, and conflict resolution.
  • •Create and maintain a tight production schedule with clear daily work assignments to keep downstream integration fed.
  • •Recruit, train, and provide technical mentorship for new welders and technicians in the shop.
  • •Track shop-floor metrics and partner with engineering to improve delivery rate using high asset utilization, low cycle times, and high-yield build processes.
  • •Lead safety and continuous improvement efforts, including equipment/tooling health assessments, PPE/training adherence, and maintaining 5S protocols; halt production when necessary.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in final assembly production (aviation, aerospace, mechanical systems) in lieu of a degree.
  • •2+ years of experience leading a team or a project.
  • •Experience in welding roles (2+ years preferred; e.g., GTAW, FCAW, GMAW).
  • •Ability to read and interpret controlled documentation and engineering/assembly drawings (e.g., mechanical drawings, GD&T, work instructions, schematics, parts lists).
  • •Comfort communicating effectively with production and engineering teams, with organized, self-driven execution in a fast-paced environment.
