Job Summary

Operate asphalt/road paving equipment and support groundwork and construction activities, including transporting machines/materials to job sites, adjusting machine settings based on material distribution, and controlling paving machines to maintain a constant asphalt/material flow. Set up curbs and guidelines, cut/break pavement and drive posts, install expansion-joint materials, regulate screed temperatures and flow rates, coordinate truck dumping, and perform equipment inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs while following all safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Transport machines and material to and from job sites by driving trucks and loading/unloading equipment.
•Operate paving/rolling equipment and maintain a constant flow of asphalt or other materials into hoppers/screeds.
•Set up forms and lay out guidelines for curbs using string, spray paint, and concrete/water mixes.
•Cut or break up pavement, drive guardrail posts, and operate curbing machines to extrude concrete/asphalt curbing.
•Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair equipment; coordinate truck dumping and set up/tear down equipment.

Key Requirements

•Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
•Minimum of 1 year experience and/or training in a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
•Minimum of 3 years of road construction experience preferred.
•Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
•Maintain a current driver’s license that meets state requirements (CDL, Class A and/or B) with possible hazmat and tanker endorsements.
