Job Summary

Lead civil or environmental engineering projects in Holland, Lansing, or Novi, MI within WSP's Earth & Environment team. You’ll work on solid waste, CCR, power, hydropower, stormwater, and infrastructure, overseeing geotechnical design, permitting, earthworks, piping systems, and construction; manage budgets, mentor staff, interact with clients, and travel as needed to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide proactive leadership for the civil engineering discipline, directing project teams and ensuring deliverables meet client objectives and regulatory standards.
•Review engineering designs, permit applications, integrated management plans, and construction inspections to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and sound engineering practice.
•Lead large, complex civil projects by coordinating budgets, tracking hours/expenses, and supervising subcontractors and staff.
•Pursue and develop infrastructure opportunities within the assigned geography and contribute to strategic growth and pipeline development.
•Lead technical aspects of contract negotiations, presentations, and client meetings while mentoring junior staff and maintaining QA/QC across projects.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
•10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering, civil and infrastructure design
•Engineer license required (multi-state preferred)
•Advanced proficiency with civil engineering principles, design/build processes, and regulatory compliance
•Advanced proficiency with office automation and discipline-specific design software (e.g., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak, GeoSlope, ANSYS, STADD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS)
