Key Responsibilities

  • •Root-cause complex fleet failures across actuators, encoder/calibration drift, thermal events, CAN bus faults, and control-stack bugs.
  • •Hands-on bench work: bench-test suspect actuators/electronics, perform rework and repairs, swap and re-commission components, and validate with test fixtures.
  • •Design and build mechanical repair pieces and supporting test fixtures (jigs, brackets, mounts) from concept through fabrication.
  • •Build and roll out fleet health metrics and monitoring, including maintenance indices, precursors, and bus-error tracking with alert rules tuned to real faults.
  • •Develop calibration and test tooling and wrangle/monitor robot telemetry at scale (extract/decode logs, close pipeline gaps, write runbooks and review PRs for firmware/control changes).

Key Requirements

  • •3 to 5 years in robotics, mechatronics, hardware test, or reliability engineering with significant time on fielded hardware.
  • •Comfort at the bench with soldering, multimeter, and calipers, including tearing down, repairing, and re-commissioning electromechanical assemblies.
  • •Understanding of actuator failure modes (backlash, wear, preload loss, end-stop damage) and connecting physical evidence to design causes.
  • •Working knowledge of robot control including impedance/torque-controlled actuators, controller state lifecycles, and tuning deployed behavior.
