Job Summary

Build and operate the neutral-atom hardware control stack end-to-end, from atom loading and array assembly to imaging/readout calibration and automated trapping-to-gate sequencing. Develop calibration automation that closes the loop with software and machine learning so systems stay stable and online without a physicist present. Improve fidelity, defect-free array time, and trap-depth uniformity while integrating hardware, software, and data pipelines.
Location: San Francisco
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Capital Markets, Trading & Quant

Key Responsibilities

  • •Optimize routines from first trapping through defect-free array assembly, improving loading, survival, and uniformity.
  • •Develop and maintain qubit control and characterization, including imaging/readout calibration and single-qubit/Rydberg two-qubit gate fidelity.
  • •Automate calibration and recovery loops so cooling/trapping/Rydberg/Raman laser systems stay locked and recover without a human in the loop.
  • •Build the system performance and control stack: monitoring, drift/atom-loss/fidelity recovery, and control of array geometry and trap-depth homogenization.
  • •Partner with physicists, machine learning engineers, and backend developers to integrate hardware, software, and data pipelines into one quantum control stack.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 120,000 - 180,000 annually

Perks:Health InsuranceDentalVision

Key Requirements

  • •Map the neutral atom calibration problem end to end, from first trapping through rearrangement, gates, and readout.
  • •Develop imaging and readout calibration to hold fidelity steady as the system drifts and manage an error budget with attributable contributions.
  • •Encode expert tuning into automation that keeps calibration stable and recovers without manual physicist involvement.
  • •Write or adapt control software for arbitrary waveform generators, direct digital synthesizers, FPGAs, cameras, and real-time rearrangement hardware.
  • •Diagnose drift, atom loss, and fidelity degradation and define monitoring and recovery for unattended operation.
