Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as senior technical advisor and client lead by reviewing planning application documentation for development proposals affecting the Strategic Road Network.
  • •Oversee complex, high-profile planning consultations and manage client relationships while coordinating advice from AECOM specialists.
  • •Lead team reporting to senior management and the client regarding contractual obligations and operational requirements.
  • •Deliver on the contract by managing deadlines, resources, workload planning, budget preparation/monitoring, and client-specific KPIs.
  • •Provide technical assurance and sign-off of development management recommendations, including supporting evidence for planning appeals and examinations.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Spatial/Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • •Membership (ideally Chartered) of a professional body such as CIHT, TPS, or CILT.
  • •Extensive post-graduate experience in transport planning.
  • •Strong leadership and team management experience, including leading, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams.
  • •Comprehensive knowledge of UK transport planning principles, policies, and regulations, plus experience in transport modelling.
