Key Responsibilities

  • •Embrace Courageous Safety Leadership (CSL), sponsor safety and environmental rules, and perform regular Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) field visits.
  • •Coordinate geotechnical field programs and support geotechnical analyses and designs implementing the Life of Mine plan.
  • •Conduct risk-based assessments and geotechnical inspections of active and dormant mining areas; report findings and provide recommendations.
  • •Manage and compile geotechnical data and complete interpretations and reviews; perform stability analyses for rock slopes, waste dumps, and soil stockpiles.
  • •Coordinate and review external geotechnical consultants’ work to ensure specifications, standards, and codes are met; communicate geotechnical risks and solutions.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 122,000 - 150,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Geological/Geotechnical, Mining Engineering, or equivalent.
  • •Registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
  • •Minimum of 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience, ideally in an active mine site or open-pit mining operations.
  • •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop practical geotechnical recommendations and communicate them to mine planning and operations.
  • •Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and relevant geotechnical software (e.g., GeoExplorer, Vulcan, AutoCAD, Slide, Dips, Swedge, RocFall, Phase2/RS2).
