Key Responsibilities

  • •Evaluate and assess legal risks and potential claims for Aon, recording details in internal systems and providing regular updates.
  • •Investigate the merits of claims, record witness statements, collate relevant documents, and advise on defenses and settlement options.
  • •Provide legal support for resolving client, FSCA, and Ombud complaints, and assist internal/external attorneys defending actions against Aon.
  • •Draft, negotiate, review, and amend agreements including service level agreements, indemnity forms/disclaimers, intermediary agreements, leases, NDAs, and settlement/sponsorship agreements.
  • •Develop legal risk management practices, support E&O policy training and committee matters, and assist with legal procedures rollout and overflow commercial/regulatory work.

Key Requirements

  • •Admitted attorney in South Africa.
  • •Legal degree (LLB or similar).
  • •Grade 12 (Matric).
  • •Minimum 5 years’ post-admission experience in commercial and insurance litigation (private practice or in-house).
  • •Excellent knowledge of legal principles and litigation strategy, including rules of court and civil procedure.
