Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan and deliver consistently excellent, engaging geography lessons aligned with the NCfE.
  • •Set high expectations and create a safe, inclusive, purposeful learning environment where every student can succeed.
  • •Use assessment to adapt teaching, provide meaningful feedback, track progress, and implement timely intervention.
  • •Develop geography curriculum planning, resourcing, assessment, and moderation, including fieldwork opportunities and preparation for future GCSE Geography and post-16 pathways.
  • •Contribute to the wider life and culture of the school through pastoral responsibilities, enrichment, extra-curricular activities, and community events.

Key Requirements

  • •A recognised teaching qualification and a degree in Geography or a closely related subject.
  • •Experience teaching geography at secondary level, including GCSE Geography, with ambition to grow a department.
  • •A proven record of securing strong student outcomes.
  • •Excellent classroom practice, behaviour management, and communication skills.
  • •The ambition, adaptability, and collaborative mindset required to contribute to a growing secondary school.
