Job Summary

Lead technical aspects of electricity transmission line design projects (34.5 kV to 500 kV), including new builds, relocations, reconstructions, upgrades, structure replacements, and fiber optic additions. Prepare and review design deliverables, perform quality reviews with internal teams and subcontractors, and manage multiple projects to meet budgets and schedules. Optimize technical options, ensure high-voltage construction standards, coordinate contractors, and act as technical liaison while providing leadership and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

•Direct technical aspects of electricity transmission line design projects (34.5 kV to 500 kV), including new lines, relocations, reconstructions, upgrades, structure replacements, and fiber optic additions.
•Prepare and review design deliverables, including plans and profiles, material selection, and construction estimates.
•Conduct quality reviews of deliverables produced internally and by subcontractors.
•Manage and prioritize multiple projects while meeting budgets and schedules; develop and monitor scope, schedules, and budgets in line with plans and contracts.
•Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors, act as the technical project lead and primary client liaison, identify challenges, and provide leadership and mentorship to team members.

Key Requirements

•University degree in civil engineering (B. Ing.), mechanical engineering (B. Ing.), or electrical engineering (B. Ing.) from an accredited institution.
•Minimum 10 years of experience designing energy transmission lines, including high- and very-high-voltage overhead lines, alignments, line and structure placement, structure design and analysis, and construction tender package preparation.
•Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-Lite.
•Engineering professional designation P.Eng. / Ing. required.
•Experience in project engineering or project management within multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
