Job Summary

Support tunnel ventilation and fire life-safety engineering by developing ventilation models and engineering assessments under senior supervision. Key Responsibilities

•Assist in developing ventilation models and engineering assessments under senior engineers’ supervision.
•Prepare engineering calculations, ventilation system layouts, mechanical design drawings, equipment sizing, and technical specifications.
•Support development and review of simulation models for tunnel ventilation and fire scenarios, including 1D ventilation and 3D fire/smoke modelling using FDS/PyroSim.
•Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support integrated tunnel and station designs and ensure work complies with project requirements, codes, and engineering standards.
•Participate in technical meetings and internal design reviews and contribute to technical reports, presentations, and engineering documentation.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
•Up to 2 years of experience in a related field, with strong interest in tunnel ventilation and fluid-dynamics/simulation-based design.
•Familiarity with SES and/or IDA Tunnel (or equivalent tunnel ventilation simulation software).
•Desirable experience with FDS/PyroSim and advantageous experience with ANSYS Fluent (or equivalent CFD software).
•Proficiency in English and Spanish, plus basic knowledge of Python or VBA and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
