•Envision and build recurring reports on consumer finances using Rocket Money’s data for news media, policy organizations, and public policy stakeholders.
•Create and publish blog posts connecting data insights to current news, economic trends, business topics, and regulatory issues.
•Work with executives to create a cadence of talking points for use during media events.
•Analyze aggregate user financial data to uncover trends and generate insights for a general audience, and coordinate data-driven PR requests.
•Maintain repositories of approved public statements, coordinate press appearances with legal, and represent Rocket Money at industry events to advocate for consumer-friendly financial practices.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of experience in data science, economics, statistics, and analytics, preferably in fintech or financial services.
•5+ years using data to drive the public conversation for a public company, industry group, or public policy advocacy organization.
•Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets, with an emphasis on repeatability, transparency, and traceability in reporting.
•Strong understanding of inferential statistical methods, especially survey/sampling approaches and re-weighting observations to make statements about the US population.
•Deep understanding of personal finance, economic trends, and the regulatory landscape of personal financial and subscription-based industries.
