Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide strategic and operational safeguarding and child protection leadership across the school.
  • •Act as the key point of contact for safeguarding concerns and manage referrals, disclosures, and escalation with timely action and accurate documentation.
  • •Maintain confidential safeguarding records in line with school, GEMS, and regulatory requirements.
  • •Coordinate safeguarding and child protection training and induction for staff, and support colleagues in identifying and responding to concerns.
  • •Teach using a reduced timetable, building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families and contributing to wider pastoral life.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a recognised teaching qualification such as a B.Ed, PGCE, State Teaching Licence or equivalent.
  • •Have a relevant bachelor’s degree meeting UAE teacher approval requirements.
  • •Have at least three years’ successful teaching experience in a recognised school setting.
  • •Bring significant safeguarding and child protection experience, ideally as a Designated Safeguarding Lead or equivalent.
  • •Demonstrate strong safeguarding knowledge, effective case management, and the ability to handle sensitive disclosures and confidential information appropriately.
