Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform static and dynamic structural thermal-mechanical analysis with minimal guidance on technical tasks.
  • •Drive design forward by ensuring correct decisions at all stages using credible simulation methods and self-learning to resolve issues.
  • •Collaborate with design engineers to define simulation/experimental targets and adhere to Dyson development processes, including Product Life Management and periodic status reporting.
  • •Assess risks and problem-solve based on analytics data, clearly highlighting risk and finding mitigations through research/measurement.
  • •Drive technical excellence via best-practice promotion and develop new tools/methods to enhance product performance, reliability, and time to market.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Material Science and Engineering, Mechanics of Materials (or equivalent); Master’s preferred.
  • •5+ years of experience in mechanical product analysis & development, preferably in the consumer electrical appliance industry.
  • •Competent in CAD/CAE tools such as ANSYS, Moldflow, and Abaqus (or similar).
  • •In-depth understanding of structural analysis (FEA) and/or plastic molding process analysis, including modal/vibration analysis and solid mechanics/strength of materials.
  • •Applied knowledge of structural optimization using FEA automation and/or machine learning is welcomed; hardware/software for measurement and data acquisition (e.g., B&K Pulse, strain gauge, MATLAB, LabVIEW) is preferred.
