Job Summary

Build structural and fluid systems for testing campaigns in Central Texas by performing FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and/or GMAW. Fit up and weld steel, low alloy, stainless, aluminum, or exotic pipe spools and structures, interpreting drawings and engineering specifications to plan work and verify completion after each work order. Collaborate with engineering, supervisors, and planners, improve turnaround times, and handle hazardous materials safely in an outdoor, fume/noise environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform at least two welding processes as needed: FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and/or GMAW.
•Fit up and weld structures or pipe spools made from mild carbon steel, low alloy, stainless, aluminum, or exotics.
•Perform fabrication math from drawings to derive dimensions, angles, and part locations.
•Analyze engineering drawings/specifications to plan fitting and welding operations when procedural information is unavailable.
•Handle hazardous materials, set up safety equipment and work platforms at elevation, and work in extreme outdoor environments.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
•2+ years of experience in two of the welding processes: FCAW, SMAW/stick welding, GTAW/TIG welding, or GMAW/MIG welding.
•5+ years of experience in one of the welding processes: FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, or GMAW (preferred).
•Knowledge of standard tools, materials, and work practices of the welding trade (preferred).
•Knowledge of occupational hazards and effective safety precautions (preferred).
