Key Responsibilities

  • •Integrate and test new hardware and software features and subsystems as technology and customer needs evolve.
  • •Drive growing ownership of overall machine and service operations, optimizing performance, reliability, uptime, and running cost.
  • •Build and enable a team of operators so the machine can reliably support a commercial service.
  • •Support users and customers, translating their needs into the machine’s roadmap.
  • •Partner with internal engineering teams and software teams to integrate the software stack that enables quantum computer programmability and delivery of value.

Key Requirements

  • •Ph.D. in experimental AMO physics (or related field) with 6+ years of hands-on experience building or operating a neutral-atom or trapped-ion system.
  • •Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams to integrate subsystem work into a system.
  • •Ability to work with customers and end users to understand needs and translate them into features that deliver market value.
  • •Software skills, including programming languages and a basic understanding of software architectures.
  • •Willingness to provide on-call support for machine and service operations.
